ferns, lovely ferns

I am happy to see that my 'yard ferns' seem to be establishing themselves- these just got one heaping blanket of leaf mulch in the spring; I've left them alone since then.

The young sensitive ferns seem to be doing well, too.

My boston fern on the porch is filling in with new fronds, but getting a bit bleached by too much light. I need to move it.

Oddest thing on my bird's nest fern in the house.

One of the fronds has a split tip! It reminds me of that funny leaf on the big schefflera. A freak mutation?
