The brightness behind my awful pumpkin patch are the Cosmos and Sunflowers. Now that all the Sunflowers have opened, they make a nice row.
I particularly like that this variety has bunches of smaller flowers atop each stalk. Maybe I will grow them again after all!
And to my surprise, among the mess of Pumpkins, the lone remaining Zucchini is actually budding again. So maybe we'll get a few more Zucchini after all. I thought they were done for the year. My daughter is imploring me to make zucchini bread out of the next one, and not sautee any more for the dinner table.
