I cut this plant down by more than half again the other day, to put the chives into enchiladas since I didn't have enough green onions (it was very tasty).
I was careful not to cut the stems that are developing these little buds, because I want to see the plant finally flower!

I need to cut back my chives SO BAD! They got so tall that they've just fallen over, lol….I really need to just cut them and chop them and freeze them and let them come back. Yours look fabulous!
Well, the only reason I cut mine back is because I keep eating them! I do think more about what to put them in for consumption when they start to get so tall they flop over. I hope continuing to cut them doesn't affect the flowering.
I've never tried freezing them, but I've heard it works pretty well.
