unknown buds

This bush on the corner that I've been watching grow; I thought it was a hydrangea but now that the buds are forming I realize it's something else. I want to learn its identity so I can find out how to propagate it; I want more in other places of the yard.

The buds look like peony buds to me but not so sure about the leaves. If you have peonies that would be wonderful!

I think you are right! I looked at some photos of peonies and the growing habit looks the same. When the flowers open I'll check again to be sure.
