winter tokyo bekana

Picked some yesterday-
and we ate it for dinner! on a bed of rice and peas, with portabellas and onions. It was yum. Nice and savory.
Proof that my shabby row cover is working just fine. I would much rather have twice as many greens to cut- there's not much out there but pleased to see how well they do under the plastic. I kind of redid the row cover, taping the end pieces to the fencing frame and leaving the top loose just wedged down on the sides or weighed with a few rocks. Now can lift the side up easily to cut the greens, add/dump slug bait, or water the plants. The wind tends to tear the plastic loose but I don't care really spring is almost here and in fall I'll do a better job of it.
