lettuces are done

Bolting quicker now- we're almost in june when it gets hot here. I pulled all the ones in the back and just composted them.

pulled the front half of the bed, cut off the roots and stuck the stems in water- these in a cooler

and these in my largest cooking pot- so they'd withstand the heat while I finished up and got them into the kitchen.

Wrapped their ends in damp paper towels, stashed in the fridge crisper for another week or two of salads and fixings.
