It's kind of strange to once again have tetras in my 20H, that I'm not sure I want to keep after all . . . but it's also nice to see them drifting around in there, instead of empty space unless I peer close to see the shrimps.
After a day of letting them settle in half-dark, I lifted off the cloth, some of them are still a bit pale from the stress of change but most have their good colors- rich sheen almost purple- still hard to catch a photo without blur!
I like the tetras, but I don't like them enough to keep in a tank that might be useful as extra space if my angels do manage to raise fry . . . and I'm not nearly as fond of them as the other fishes I keep.
Meanwhile, in my window tank the younger crypt cordata (although now I think it might be crypt Moehlmanii according to someone's pics on the planted tank site) is showing its form- and has a second leaf shoot just barely coming up.
I've been kind of scratching my head over why this tank is getting more algae than usual lately, and then also realized I haven't seen many trumpet snails in here lately. Of course, the paradise fishes eat them. This week I caught all the adult-sized MTS out of the 20H I could find- whenever one crawls up the glass at night- and dropped them into the window tank. I put most of them right by the big crypt moehlmanii, and today found the leaves much cleaner, one snail busy eating algae there.
