new thing

I didn't know Coleus would flower, but it looks like these two cuttings are making buds, not new leaf pairs.
I looked them up, the flowers grow on a thin stalk above the plant, like basil plant does.

The flowers tend to be underwhelming, and usually pinched out to encourage the foliage. It's been so long since I let one bloom, I don't even remember what they look like. But then I've never grown one as a house plant.

I will probably pinch them out, then. I looked up pics online. Yeah, not too spectacular. Remind me of basil flower spikes. The foliage is much prettier!
