For the past two days I've been doing cleanup in the garden; deadheading flowers, pulling weeds, trimming off dead foliage. Made a few discoveries. Some sad, like that three of my heirloom tomato plants were pretty much dead. Others good. The happiest was that the crepe myrtle bush I thought I'd killed is alive! Fresh new leaves are emerging from two of the woody stems.
My biggest pumpkin is starting to turn orange, but oddly I can't find the second one, which was right next to it. How did it disappear?
The Cosmos behind the pumpkin patch have all grown tall and make a pretty line of flowers; the Sunflower heads are formed and one was just beginning to unfurl.
