The first Pea flowers have begun to appear! as the plants climb high on their stick supports
And in my transplanted Daylily corner, tall stalks have suddenly grown, with buds atop them.
Soon there will be showy flowers there, in what used to be an ugly weedy spot. They are already doing a great job of soaking up all the excess water that used to creep into my mudroom during heavy rains. I haven't even worried about that this spring. (I still remember how annoyed I got last summer, when I had a broken toe and a neighbor kindly mowed my lawn for me. The daylilies hadn't flowered yet, and I guess he thought it was just some crazy-tall thick grass, because he mowed down all my daylilies by the shed! Those have come back, but only sparsely, and without any sign yet of flowering).
