peony blooms

They were full budded a week or so ago, and I know from experience rain will knock all the petals off, so I cut the buds to bring in the house

didn't take long to start opening

and then wow-

They're so pretty. The pink ones so lush it's almost too gaudy for me.

My favorites are from the newer plant, 'Sorbet'

My nine-year-old did an experiment with food dye. Turning a white one blue- just on the edges so far.
