alive
Well, my plants all seem to have survived the cold with minimal damage. This morning I wasn't sure at first- those that had gotten covered with solid buckets, boxes and bedsheets (astilbe, columbine, rhubarb, lettuces and such) looked perfectly fine. The ones I put upended pots over suffered some frost damage- of course, because the pots have drainage holes! which let in the cold air. I'll have to remember if I do that again, to put saucers or plates over the tops. (It will look even funnier). So most of the plants looked woeful and felt crunchy when I uncovered them, but after the sun warmed them most have recovered and look close to normal again. I think they will all be okay.
