more flowers

I was surprised to find this morning that even though they're still so small, my Cucumber plants are flowering!
You can see how little they are here- the ring around the base of the plant is the top of the toilet-paper tube it was started in.
And this one is growing next to a young Cilantro plant (so far doing its job- no sign of cucumber beetles in this patch yet. They destroyed all my cucumbers and cantaloupe with disease last year).
My Green Beans are full of flowers now, and coming on quickly behind the white blooms are teensy-tiny little green beans (in the middle of the picture, as if they're pointing at each other).
I'm so tickled! I was afraid they wouldn't grow proper beans, since I saved my own seed and wasn't sure it would work. Only one plant seems to be going crazy trying to send a tendril up the side of my house; I'll just be sure not to save from that plant this year.

The Hostas are still flowering, too- pretty things, even if they're diminutive compared to the bold statement of the plants' leaves.

So cool!!! I have tons of flowers on my lima bean plants but sadly, they all fall off after they bloom :( I wish they'd sprout beans!!

It's sad yours aren't making beans. How long has it been since the flowers fell off? Maybe you just don't have enough of the good bugs around. Mine seem to get pollinated by small flies (or maybe they're wasps).

I still have tons of flowers on them...they're continuously falling off and sprouting new flowers...I'm finding little flies around them and some little ants crawling all over them...hoping maybe the ants will polinate? Maybe the plant's still too young...I don't know...we'll see what happens!
