My tomatoes calmed down for a little while after giving me 6 from my better boy plant, but now they're producing again! My creole tomato plant grew like crazy!! Have you ever had creole tomatoes? They're Louisiana's own tomato...I should totally send you some seeds for next year :D
I've never had a creole tomato. Is the taste very different? I grow heirloom beefsteak and some kind of cherry tomato (forget the variety name right now)
They're just so delicious!!! The taste probably isn't that different :p We just like to pretend they're special, lol...but they're so very juicy with a bit of sweetness and perfect for just eating by the slice or making etoufees or stews.
It's a SUPER popular traditional creole dish here in New Orleans that I forget everyone doesn't have :p It's traditionally made with crawfish or shrimp and stewed tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and okra and served over rice and it's delicious!
Mother to two girls and one kitty cat. I love books and gardening. I enjoy puzzles, scrabble games and keeping planted tanks. From the great Pacific Northwest, I now live on the East Coast.
