The Strawberry plants get bigger every time I look at them. All have several green berries tucked under their leaves now,
and one plant is already turning them rosy.
That same one is sending out runners, too.
My neighbor who has a four-year-old strawberry bed in her yard, told me to cut the runners off. You're supposed to snip off the flowers the first year and not let any fruit set, so the plants can be strong. But she said she can't stand not having fruit, so just does half of it and the plants do fine- next season let the runners make new plants and pull out the old.
