monarch eggs!

I thought my plant had attracted no butterflies, but I was wrong. Other day my daughter broke part of the milkweed plant when she hopped over the retaining wall, and I asked her to help me prop it up again with the use of a tomato cage. Handling it- the stems appear to bend and break quite easily- I found a small cluster of pale eggs underside of a leaf. Monarch! I am delighted.

The plant really should be closer to the wall, further from the walking area. I'll remedy that if I plant more in spring.
