baby trees

I found a tree seedling when weeding the garden, but it wasn't the usual maple (they're all over the place). I pulled it up and there was a round nut, with roots going down and stem going up. A squirrel must've buried it. I thought it was an acorn at first, but the leaf shape doesn't match what I find in google images. My kid insisted we grow it into a tree,
but she wanted to plant it right in the center of the lawn. I convinced her to put it in a pot for now. She did it all herself; knew right where to find a small pot on the shelf and the bag of potting soil.
We put the seedling next to my baby Pear,
which just got moved into its own slightly bigger pot.
