I've pulled more of the scrawny-looking rotala rotundifolia out of the betta tank, and planted in here. The earlier stems are growing taller, if they are a bit winding in form. The tetras still seem to appreciate them, so I don't care too much they aren't perfectly straight.
I put in here the largest anubias out of the betta tank, as well. It's looking pale, and a bit mottled with algae. Thought it might prefer a change of scenery.
I've got a little row of them in here, now- some of the anubias congensis and one afzelii I took back out of the 45 also.
This tank had a flow problem earlier in the week. I noticed the bubbles were much fewer, coming out of the sponge filter. I had dropped a dozen small ceramic bio-media pieces in the center, just because someone online said hey! you can do this! and have more surface area. I thought they were impeding the flow. Dumped them out, fitted it all back together- flow the same. I disassembled the filter again, took off the air stone. That was the issue. Its pores clogged. I tried to soak it in vinegar thinking it had hard water deposits, but when I took it out of the vinegar bath and went to rinse it, the stone just crumbled apart in my hand. I guess it was too old. Oh well, I had another one.
