echinacea, rudbeckia

My echinacea are definitely established- I had lots of blooms this year.
Most of the flowers are done now but a few still look fresh in there.
Seedheads attract the goldfinches- three times now I have flushed a brilliant yellow bird out of the echinacea- the color so bright it is surprises me. My husband and kid saw a goldfinch in the echinacea when they were outside the other day, and each came separately to tell me about it, they were so taken by the sight.
The rudbeckia is hearty, little fazed by the heat or the insects.
Together they formed a massive thicket, it's even up against the walking path now.
Poor rhubarb got shaded out, I really need to move it again!
