I took my oldest, largest African Violet and removed all its fading outer leaves. Now what's left is where the crown has regrown. I also took it out of the SIP planter and put it in a regular, shorter pot. I think it had too much room there; the soil was often oversaturated and mold was becoming an issue. It's pictured on the right, here.
It looks about the same size now as the rest of my violets.
The baby ones are growing up fast. Nary a flower yet...
