I opened all my drying herb bags yesterday and crumpled them into jars for storage. The only jar that got filled up was the Sage, so I'm going to have to pick and dry more herbs if I want to fill them up! Also, I don't know why I didn't dry any Rosemary yet...
Here are Parsley, Sage and Pineapple Sage (don't know if that will have any good flavor, we'll see!)
also Dill, Marjoram and Summer Savory
The Dill looks particularly ferny
when stripped off the stems.
I really need to start growing some Dill!! I have a recipe that I'm making tomorrow that calls for some and I just know I'll pay a ridiculous amount of money at the store for it :/ Love your jars :)
ReplyDeleteFresh dill is such a strong herb, too! More than once I've made the error of putting too much in. It's excellent in egg dishes, I love it in deviled eggs. My husband puts it in tartar sauce, too. Going to try it w/some poached salmon next time I buy fresh fish...
ReplyDeleteI want to know where you got those jars!
ReplyDeleteAlfonso picked them up at a garage sale somewhere. I'd always wanted an herb rack that hung on the wall and he found one with all these little glass jars. Some still smell like the original herbs they held- I try to match them up! The green glass keeps the herbs fresher long- either that or you're supposed to keep them in a dark cupboard.
