I've made a new Thing for my plants. Been wanting a greenhouse of sorts for years, and ran into a problem yesterday. Young Tomatoes ready to go outside for more light, but the coldframe simply isn't big enough. And I thought: what's a greenhouse but clear plastic over a frame? So I bent some metal poles (that used to hold political signs in the yard), tied them together into a box shape, and stretched plastic over it (that the crib mattress came wrapped in). Sure, it isn't pretty, but it works!
And the plants seem quite happy in there. The bottom is open. I simply lift it off on sunny days, and cover them back up when it's rainy or at night.
