bounty

Today's fresh pickings! One nice Zucchini, one fat Cucumber, a handful of young Green Beans and lots and lots of Cherry Tomatoes.
I'm finally getting some Heirloom Tomatoes too, the plants seem to have recovered (although they have lots of drying, wilting leaves) from the blossom-end rot. I'm not sure which was the cure- lime, crushed eggshells or simply more watering, but something did the trick! Now we have plenty of small but very very tasty heirloom tomatoes.

Well, as I've never even grown eggplant or okra, I wouldn't call that a fair comparison! I've seen your pics and I love the way okra looks, growing. I'd grow it just for the pretty leaves.

You should definitely plant okra next year!! You seem to get some pretty warm weather. It likes the warmth. It's a beautiful plant with a beautiful flower and it's rewarding. You get about two stalks per day per plant to pick. And it's very pest resilient!

It sounds like a wonderful plant, except for one thing... I'm not sure I like eating it! I've only had okra a few times, and it just wasn't to my liking. But maybe there are better ways to prepare it, I don't know.
