Strawberries are over. I sure didn't get much. But I have high hopes for next year, as the plants are huge and healthy-looking. (Compare this picture of the plot to one I took when the plants were first set in!)
They're also very determined to multiply. Every day I snip off the runners (you can see two on the bottom edge here) and soon there are even more.
What do you do with them over the winter? I kept my potted one, but it didn't do anything this year....
ReplyDeleteYou have to protect them from the winter cold. The potted one should come inside and cool and dry, like in a garage. Or I've read you can cover it with something like a burlap bag. I'm going to mulch mine with dry grass clippings or shredded newspaper.
